The start

Good morning

Well, this is actually my 4th day here in England, and truth be told, I love it.
There are so many beautiful places, fun things to do and of course, I can be with my love all the time now. Things feel right here.

Yesterday I was in London for a job interview, and managed to get to the Barbican and back on my own, first time travelling all alone in London. I was so proud, it was ridiculous. And now I finally understand the underground a little better. So despite a few problems, yesterday was really good. By the way, I still think my favourite part of England is Richmond. Just drove by in the train yesterday and it’s just the most gorgeous place. So all you Norwegian out there thinking of taking a trip to London before Christmas, take my advice and visit Richmond. You won’t regret.

And I’m absolutely in love with the apartment. Small, but just right. And very British. Hihi. Door knobs instead of handles, ceiling light with a thread hanging from the ceiling to turn on, the weird separated hot and cold sink, it’s so cute.  The area around has a beautiful pond and some woodland too, so it doesn’t look that much different from home.

When I was leaving the airport in Norway

I think I have fallen hopelessly in love with this country. So much charm. My first day here we went to a bonfire night with fireworks display. Gosh, so beautiful. When you’ve just left your country, spent hours travelling and are totally wiped out by the move itself, seeing fireworks light up the sky can get pretty emotional. Luckily I had my Mr.B with me, who was cracking jokes about his council taxes blowing up in the sky. That helped me recover, before I turned bonfire night into a sob fest.

We went to Beefeater for a meal afterwards, and oh my god, the food there is amazing. It was a busy night, so out starters was lost in the order, but to make up for it, we got free beer and for dessert we had a tower of icecream. It was insane. Between the two of us, we didn’t stand a chance to finish it.

Today it’s tuesday and my plan is to do some serious job hunting and get all my paperwork done. Going for a beer later with Mr.B, so got a nice evening ahead.

So to all my wonderful loved ones back in Norway, have a wonderful day and know that if it was up to me, I would take each and every one of you with me when I left.
